Mohammadan Law of Inheritance, also known as Al-Sirajiyyah, is a classical study of Islamic inheritance law based on the renowned work attributed to Shaykh Siraj al-Din al-Sajawandi.

This edition reproduces Sir William Jones’s English translation and includes additional notes and an appendix by barrister Almaric Rumsey. It presents the principles governing how an estate is distributed among heirs according to classical Sunni Islamic jurisprudence.

The book examines important subjects such as fixed shares, residuary heirs, distant relatives, exclusion from inheritance, debts, succession and the calculation and division of an estate.
