Palestine Scarf, Keffiyeh, White with Purple/Green

The Palestinian keffiyeh, also known as a "kufiya," "hatta," or "shemagh," goes far beyond its iconic black and white checkered pattern. Originating in Iraq, this square scarf spread across the Arab world as a traditional head covering worn in the Middle East and North Africa.

When it reached Palestine, the keffiyeh came to represent much more than it did elsewhere. Today, it has crossed borders, religions, and genders to become an international symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
