Humanity at The Death's Door

“O Muslim! Remember every living being is bound to taste death.” (Holy Qur’an)

From the King to menials, from the mighty to the weak, the pious as well as sinners, even the Prophets are destined to die. But the difference lies in how one behaves when death approaches. True believers and the pious welcome death with a smile as they know that death is in fact, the gateway to an eternal life of bliss as a reward for their piety and virtuous conduct and not so the arrogant, the sinners, and the tyrants. They tremble at the thought of the punishment in store for them for their misdeeds.

In “Humanity at The Death’s Door”, the author Muhammad Iqbal Siddiqi gives a graphic narration of how Prophet Muhammad (SaW), the four dedicated Caliphs, some illustrious Companions, and other well known pious Muslims acted when death approached them. In contrast, the narration of the last moments of Hajjaj Bin Yousuf, famous for his tyranny and cruelty is a real eye-opener.
